The Phonic Digitrack connects to the computer via USB and has stereo RCA and S/PDIF inputs and outputs to convert audio from analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog for recording and playback. A mini stereo headphone jack with volume control is included for monitoring incoming and outgoing signals. Digitrack overcomes the ground noise associated with analog cabling by acting as an interface between the audio device and the computer, stopping the noise before it makes it onto the recording. It also converts analog audio to digital before sending it to the computer. The computer receives a clean digital stereo audio signal that can be recorded and edited easily. Digitrack can be used as an interface between a mixer and a digital audio workstation, or can be packed with a laptop for an inexpensive way to record live sound.
